Welcome

Travis Luckert began guitar lessons at age four in Edmonton, Alberta and studied with local teacher Dayle Besler until university. In 2020, he graduated from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montréal with a Bachelor of Music in Performance, which he completed under GFA-winning guitarist and teacher Jérôme Ducharme. Travis now lives, works and plays in Canmore, Alberta.

His achievements include placing first in the Open Strings category of the 2019 Quebec Music Competition, as well as in the 2019 Music of Mediterranean Europe international online competition. As a youngster, he won both the 16-and-under and Senior categories of the Alberta Music Festival. Travis has performed extensively in Edmonton, Calgary, and Montreal, and played for such guitarists as Pepe Romero, Alvaro Pierri, Manuel Barrueco, Scott Tennant, William Kanengiser, and Marc Teicholz among others.

Travis performs on a 2012 Martin Blackwell guitar, and his studies were generously supported by both the Anne Burrows Music Foundation Scholarship and the Winspear Fund Scholarship for Advanced Classical Music.
